Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, made a sad confession. He said the news of Lilibet Diana’s birth reached his ears, not his daughter’s.
Report from E! On News, Monday (6 April 2021), Thomas Markle revealed this in an interview on the Australian TV show 60 Minutes.
Prince Harry’s father-in-law said he had “no phone” about the birth of his granddaughter.
The 76-year-old man was found in the same position as most people when he heard the news of Meghan Markle’s birth in the media.
“I heard it on the radio,” he said.
Nevertheless, Thomas praised the name his son-in-law had chosen for his grandson.
“Lily is the perfect name. And another thing that makes me happy is the more Meghan blood in the royal family,” she said.
Although happy, as his grandfather he had hope.
“All I can say is that I hope to see my grandchildren someday, because I was a pretty good grandfather,” he said.
As is known, Meghan Markle’s relationship with her father was strained after it was revealed that Thomas was conspiring with the paparazzi. The paparazzi adjacent to the royal wedding are known to have paid Meghan’s father to be photographed after seeing the news about her son and reading a book about England.
Thomas Markle later admitted that he regretted the severing of the relationship between him and Meghan as a result of the incident.
Thomas Markle of the paparazzi who conspired against him in an interview with Good Morning Britain last March said, “I may have been caught, but I believed [the paparazzi]. I thought it would work. Of course it didn’t.” .
